Wildflowers

I stopped to smell the wildflowers the other day.

There's a field of beautiful yellow flowers I often drive by on my way into town. Lucky for me, they're in the country, on a road not frequently traveled on for most. I pulled off to the side of the road and stuck my phone out the window to get pictures. Eventually I decided to get out to pick a couple. I stayed right on the shoulder, not wanting to venture too far out by myself (I've seen way too many horror and true-crime shows to be that stupid). To some people, they're just obnoxious weeds, but to me, they're wild and free and beautiful.

I would rather a bouquet of wild, spontaneous wildflowers that someone adventured for than a bouquet of overpriced flowers from a giant fridge. Now don't hear me incorrectly. I am a girl who loves flowers. I'm obviously not going to complain when I am handed a dozen roses, but I am also not one to only expect the most expensive purchase. The amount of money someone spends on me shows me no love, it's how and why they got what they got for me that shows me love.
